Following the largest consultation exercise undertaken in the West Midlands, the region has developed its own Regional Economic Strategy.  The West Midlands Economic Strategy (WMES) launched in November 2007.

Led by Advantage West Midlands, partners from across the length and breadth of the region helped shape the WMES and, in doing so, created a framework for our region’s growth.

Our own corporate plan outlines how we will contribute to the achievement of that strategy;

  • by developing regional policy to address regional priority issues

  • by bringing together partners from all sectors and all parts of the region, encouraging a partnership approach to improving our regions performance

  • by financially supporting a wide range of projects, from large scale land and property developments to the provision of business grants

  • by funding independent bodies such as Regional Action West Midlands, the regional voice for the voluntary and community sector

  • by championing the region; promoting awareness of regional opportunities and influencing the policies of central government to the benefit of the West Midlands region
