The West Midlands is home to a highly diverse population of 5.2 million people. This vibrant mix enriches the region with different cultures and experiences and provides a bridge to a wider world of commercial opportunities.
Like other economies in the UK, the West Midlands’ workforce is changing – ageing and rapidly diversifying. This presents challenges to the region’s communities and also to the region’s business base in terms of skills supply and demand, and pressure on business practices.
Advantage West Midlands, through the Regional Skills Partnership, is seeking to tackle the barriers that stop people acquiring the skills they need for employment, and so raise aspirations and ensure that all people in our region can achieve their full potential.
